- Provisional psychologists are completing their final year of supervised practice before becoming a registered psychologist. All reports are supervised and signed off by the Director of the practice, and reports are valid for diagnostic purposes.
- Registered psychologists have completed all of their formal training and work primarily independently.

Medicare Rebates
Therapy
Under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access), Medicare rebates are available to clients with an assessed mental disorder. Medicare rebates are accessed with a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral from a medical practitioner such as a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. The rebate is limited to a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year and is only available with a valid referral. Please note the maximum number of sessions per referral is six, and rebates will not be given beyond the number stated on the referral. Please note provisional psychologists are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
The out of pocket cost after using a Mental Health Care Plan is $171.05.
Assessment
A referral under the Medicare Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders item can be used to reduce the cost of an autism assessment for people under 25 years. A referral under this item must be completed by a paediatrician or psychiatrist. This referral provides you with:
- Up to 8 assessment sessions which can be used across any allied health practitioner (such as psychologist, speech pathologist, or occupational therapist). The rebate per session is $98.95 and is only available for sessions where the person named on the referral is present (i.e., not available for any parent-only sessions or report writing).
- Up to 20 treatment sessions with a psychologist. The rebate per session is $98.95. Rebates are only available for sessions where the person named on the referral is present (i.e., not available for any parent-only sessions).
Please note that provisional psychologists are not eligible to register with Medicare, so any sessions completed with a provisional psychologist do not attract a Medicare rebate. However, our fees with a provisional psychologist are lower to reflect this.
NDIS
Minds of All Kinds Psychology is not a registered NDIS provider and only accepts NDIS clients who are self-managed. Minds of All Kinds Psychology is unable to accept plan-managed or NDIA-managed clients.
