Who Books An Assessment

Common, specific reasons people come in

An assessment is worth doing when you want more than a hunch — here’s when that’s usually the case.

  • A teacher or GP has raised ADHD or autism as a possibility, and you want a proper answer, not a guess.
  • A child is falling behind in reading, writing or maths despite trying hard, and something isn’t adding up.
  • You need documentation — for school, an NDIS plan, a workplace, or a specialist — to access support you already know you need.
  • An adult has spent years masking or compensating, and wants to understand why certain things have always felt harder than they should.

Assessment Types

Before You Book

What actually happens, from enquiry to report

A Short Intake Call With Our Admin Team

10–15 minutes to understand background and concerns, confirm which assessment fits, and match you with the right clinician.

Initial Consultation

A longer conversation with your clinician to gather history — developmental, educational, medical, whatever’s relevant — before any testing starts.

Assessment Sessions

Structured interviews, standardised testing and, where relevant, observation or questionnaires sent to a teacher or partner. Usually 1–3 sessions depending on the assessment type.

Report and Feedback Session

You get a full written report in plain language, walked through in a dedicated feedback session — not just emailed through with no context.

Fees

AssessmentTotal Fee
ADHD Assessment$1800-$2600
Autism Assessment$2300-$3200
Cognitive Assessment$1300-$1800
Learning And Educational Assessment$2300-$3100

Ranges depend on complexity and whether testing is combined (for example, a cognitive assessment alongside a learning assessment), and whether you book with a provisional or registered psychologist. You’ll get an exact quote after the intake call.
