Parenting Support
At Minds of All Kinds Psychology, Joanna enjoys working directly with parents to support developing parenting capacity in a range of areas, such as:
- Supporting your child experiencing mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression or self-harm
- Understanding your child’s behaviour and how to respond to their needs
- Developing your child’s self-esteem
Joanna is trained in the Circle of Security Parenting program, an evidence-based program focused on developing the relationship between a parent and their child and helping parents respond to their child’s emotional and behavioural needs. This program can be run both individually and as a group.
Fees and Funding
Individual sessions:
- Provisional psychologist: $190 per 50-minute session
- Registered psychologist: $270 per 50-minute session
Medicare
You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for individual psychology sessions through a Mental Health Treatment Plan. This plan is prepared by your GP and provides access to up to 10 sessions per calendar year with a registered psychologist. Please speak with your GP to see if you are eligible. The current Medicare rebate under a Mental Health Treatment Plan is $98.95 per session.
Please note that provisional psychologists are not eligible to register with Medicare, so any sessions completed with a provisional psychologist do not attract a Medicare rebate. However, our session fees with a provisional psychologist are lower to reflect this.
NDIS
If you or your child have an NDIS plan that includes funding for therapeutic supports, psychology sessions may be covered. We can work with both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Please contact us to discuss how we can support your goals through your NDIS plan. The current NDIS rate for psychology per hour is $232.99 for registered psychologists at $156.16 for provisional psychologists.
Private Health Insurance
You may be eligible for rebates from your private health provider. We recommend contacting your provider directly to enquire about available coverage.
